Built on the Belief That Poverty Should Never Decide Who Gets an Education

Life Changers Education, Research and Medical Foundation (LCERMF) is a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to two things: keeping qualified Nigerian students in school, and protecting their communities from malaria.

We are a lean, transparent, governance-first organization. Our founders believe that a dollar donated should do exactly what it promises. That is why we have written policies, independent oversight, and zero tolerance for administrative waste.

"We see a future where every Nigerian student has equal access to education, and where malaria is no longer a barrier to health, economic stability, and national development."

$12 Billion Lost to Malaria Every Year

Beyond the human cost, malaria drains $12 billion annually from African economies through lost productivity, healthcare costs, and generational poverty. Preventing one case does not just save a lifeit protects a family's economic future.

A $2 Net Can Save a Child's Life

Insecticide-treated mosquito nets are one of the most cost-effective public health interventions ever documented. One net, properly used, can protect a family for years. Yet millions of children in rural Nigeria sleep without one tonight.

Progress Is Stalling

After two decades of steady reduction, malaria deaths rose sharply during the COVID-19 pandemic and have not fully recovered. Funding gaps, supply chain disruptions, and community health worker shortages are leaving the most vulnerable behind.

Community Education Works

Studies consistently show that grassroots health education reduces malaria transmission by 40–60% in targeted communities. Teaching families how to prevent infectionnot just treat itis the sustainable path to elimination.

The Gap Between Potential and Opportunity

The Problem

In Nigeria, nearly 10 million young people who qualify for university education never enrollor drop out before finishing. The barrier is almost never ability. It is almost always money. A student who cannot pay term fees is sent home. A family that cannot buy nets watches children get sick from a preventable disease.

What We Do

LCERMF steps in at exactly that point. We identify students who have earned their place in university but cannot fund it. We provide the scholarship. We stay involved. And in the same communities, we teach families how to protect themselves from malariaand give them the nets to do it.

The Result

A student who graduates changes more than her own life. She changes her family's trajectory. She becomes a teacher, a nurse, an engineersomeone who gives back. That is the multiplier effect of education. And it starts with one scholarship funded by one donor like you.
